Environmental Justice - State of the Science

We are engaging an expert panel of key opinion leaders to provide input on how environmental justice programs can/should be implemented and the scientific basis for making decisions based on environmental justice issues.

This is an expert engagement to understand the opinions of key opinion leaders on how environmental justice programs can/should be implemented and the scientific basis for making decisions based on environmental justice issues.  We are seeking experts to fill 4 subpanels/expertise bins:
  1. Environmental economics (up to 3 experts)
  2. Social science (up to 3 experts)
  3. Public health policy (up to 3 experts)
  4. Environmental risk decision/communication (up to 3 experts)

The specifics of this assignment are as follows:
  • Blinding
    • All experts will remain anonymous to each other during all online deliberations
    • Experts identity will be revealed in a report, but answers will not be tied to individuals
    • Experts identity may be disclosed to sponsor during panel selection 
  • Review materials: several government reports
  • Time required: approximately 20 - 28 hours
  • Compensation 
    • $4,500 USD
  • Assignment dates
    • Start: ~July 10, 2023
    • End: ~August 31, 2023
  • Number of experts 
    • up to 12 total (3 experts for each of the 4 expertise bins listed above)
  • Three rounds of engagement (modified delphi format)
    • Round 1: Review material and answer charge questions independently
    • Round 2: Review results and debate amongst panel
    • Round 3: Re-answer questions and answer follow up questions independently
