Regulatory Challenges for Fluorine-Containing Pesticide

A candidate herbicide has been developed that contains fluorine atoms on the structure. A potential concern is how the current worldwide focus on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) will impact the ability to register this chemical in the various regulatory agencies around the world, with particular focus on the United States, Canada, Europe and Brazil.  We need experts in pesticide registration and familiarity with the current challenges in defining what is and what is not a PFAS.  If you have this expertise, please apply and provide below the reasons you are perfect for this panel.  Specifics of this SciPi are:

  • Rounds: 3 rounds of review
    • Round 1: review slide deck (~120 slides) of data for candidate compound and answer charge questions (<10 questions)
    • Round 2: Group debate
    • Round 3: Revisit answers from Round 1 and answer any follow up charge questions
  • Blinding: Double blinding before and during review, experts identity disclosed in a report of results
  • Travel: none (all input collected online via our website)
