I believe H-index is only matter as how their publication going, which usually only appears in the surface of people in the same field. Staking to the contribution, it shouldn't be assessed by the individualism.

Colleges and universities vary in their stated purposes, e.g., research, teaching, service to the institution or community, so I think it is impossible to answer this survey without explicitly considering the academic's institutional setting. At least that has been my experience in these different settings.

I am afraid, I made the mistake of scoring 1 to 10 where 1 was the highest mark, not 10. OOPS. I think others may have as well, judging by the % achieved. Could you please ask everyone who answered whether they scored 1 or 10 as the highest mark....

I definitely agree that administration should be on the list. Too many academics rely on poorly paid admin staff and this slows down student graduation at both undergrad and postgrad level. Part of this is DOING THINGS ON TIME!!!. Filling in forms etc. Also BEING ON CAMPUS. Not traipsing around overseas for months .

I think the list of top 100,000 scientists world-wide does a pretty good job of identifying top researchers. I'm not convinced the small differences in scores matter that much, but being on this list seems important. https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/4

Innovation in teaching/curriculum, and student satisfaction should be considered of prime importance for promotion purpose. Many institutes focuses 70 % on research. The research achievements should not account more then 30 percent of total weightage.
