Public trust in science & scientists

Has there been a decline in public trust in science & scientists?

The relationship between scientific research and public trust is crucial for the effective implementation of evidence-based policies and practices. However, recent trends indicate a growing skepticism towards scientific findings in various sectors of society.

The share of people who believe science has a mostly positive effect on society has dropped by 16 percentage points since before the pandemic, with only 57% now holding that view.
