I receive a constant stream of solicitations to submit papers to predatory journals.  Most are successfully diverted to my junk mail folder, but enough get through to be annoying.  My greater concern is the confusion they cause by using names very similar to reputable journals, sometimes tricking less experienced investigators.

I think so.  I did not respond with a submission, so it's hard to know for sure, but I get a solicitation a couple times a week from journals completely outside of my specialty area, which makes me suspicious regarding their motives, especially when in the context of high publication fees.

"Maybe, but I'm not sure" or "I don't know" would be good options to consider adding to future versions of the survey

There seems to be an entire [parallel universe] of organizations that purport to organize scientific conferences on various medical/toxicology topics.  These groups in my experience are primarily from Asian countries.  The organizer gathers 1 or 2 reputable scientists then uses those names to recruit other speakers.  Never is there an offer to cover travel and per diem but always there is a high dollar registration fee that covers the meeting and post-meeting publication in an obscure journal.

I get requests to submit publications on almost a daily basis.  The requests are gratuitous, use incorrect grammar, have relatively short submission dates, and usually cost money (usually above $1000).  If I have something to submit (which is rare since I am retired), I would submit to journals where I've published in the past (e.g, Crititcal Reviews in Toxicology or Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology).

Every week since a few years ago, I receive at least six "invitations" to publish in one of those pseudo journals. Usually, the message is poorly written, "adorned" with many adjectives, as if I was indeed the world´s most eminent writer. Also, the e-mail addresses are not from a professional domain, end if a physical address is listed, when you google it, the supposed location of the "journal offices" is in a very unlikely place.
