In my region public and commercial water sources are not uniformly fluoridated, and fluoride levels vary by region. Publicly available data and studies has shown that most areas have low fluoride levels, but a few sources have naturally high concentrations, particularly in the North Central zone. Some areas with high fluoride concentrations may even need defluoridation to avoid health risks, like fluorosis.

No, because public drinking water in Africa is generally under-fluoridated. While some countries and regions within Africa may have implemented localized fluoridation programs, the prevalence of water fluoridation across the continent remains low Many African countries face challenges such as lack of resources, public health policies, and various important factors affecting the implementation of water fluoridation programs.

Yes, the public drinking water in my region is fluoridated. To be honest, I would like the dose of water fluoridation in my region to be reviewed according to current knowledge. Because although water fluoridation is beneficial for dental health, it has been observed that tooth decay is reduced in countries without water fluoridation. In addition, water fluoridation can be toxic to both brain development and bone tissue. Therefore we can learn about the lowest dose at which fluoride can be toxic to the developing brain by researching animal experiments

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on water fluoridation in the community. It is indeed important to constantly reassess fluoride levels in drinking water based on the latest scientific evidence. While community water fluoridation has been established as an effective way to reduce tooth decay, emerging research highlights the potential dangers of fluoride exposure, particularly in the root canal development and bone health
The finding that even some countries without water fluoride saw a reduction in tooth decay suggests that other measures, such as improved dental hygiene practices and access to dental care, can make a significant contribution to oral health.
