Results & Debate
Thank you for completing the previous round of this review and answering the charge questions for this peer review. Round 2 is a very important component of this peer review. As you will see, there are a range of opinions reflected in the responses to the charge questions. Please do engage your fellow peer reviewers, much like you would in a face-to-face peer review. Ask questions of each other, solicit clarification from your fellow panel members if you see they have a different opinion. Perhaps they have additional insights that could benefit the group. Based on past reviews, we generally anticipate receiving approximately 3-5 comments (total) per reviewer during the comment/debate round. Please consider this number as a general guideline for your efforts as you participate in Round 2. More comments are always welcomed and appreciated!
While participating in Round 2, please remember to:
focus your comments on science issues associated with the review material;
be respectful of your fellow panel members; and not provide any information in your comments that could be used to reveal your identity (e.g., panel members are to remain anonymous during the review).
Round 2 of this peer review is scheduled for approximately 5 days (from 9/3 to 9/8). Please check in frequently during this period to review/respond to new comments as they are submitted by your fellow panel members. Your participation in Round 2 includes the following assignments: A) Review the previous round’s results; B) Provide your comments; and C) Review and rate comments from others.
Important instructions for Round 2:
A) On the left side of “Results” page you will see a blue sidebar that contains the charge question sections, which when clicked will reveal the list of the science charge questions in that section. Please click on a question in the sidebar to see the previous round’s results, explanations, and debate/comments for that question.
B) To provide comments on specific charge questions/responses:
Click the specific charge question in the blue sidebar
Scroll to the bottom of the page to the “Debate” field (below Results & Explanations) or click the turquoise “Jump to Debate” button at the top of the results table/figure.
Enter your comments into the text box, then click the blue “Add Comment” button (please note you can resize the text box by clicking and dragging the diagonal lines in the lower right corner of the box)
C) To review and rate comments from other panel members
Find the specific charge question on the results page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to the “Debate” field (below Results & Explanations) or click the turquoise “Jump to Debate” button at the top of the results table/figure.
Review the submitted comments from fellow panel members.
For comments that you agree with, feel free to click the “thumbs up” icon to the left of the comment text. For comments that you disagree with, feel free to click the “thumbs down” icon. The value between the thumb icons reflects the net score (e.g., receipt of 3 thumbs up, and 2 thumbs down would show a score of +1)
Round 2 is scheduled to finish on 9/8, at which time we will begin the next round. Please let us know if you have any questions via the message center.
