Finasteride, one of the most prescribed medicines for BPH, is a steroid inhibitor of 5α–reductase type 2 that inhibits testosterone conversion to DHT. However, finasteride has been linked to several negative side effects, including erectile dysfunction, depression, libido loss , male infertility, poor seminal quality, and ejaculation disorders.
