What is the best way to deplete resident macrophages in the heart?

I am planning studies that require depleting resident macrophages in the heart in a mouse model of myocardial infarction. There are multiple strategies including Csf1r and CD163 antibodies. What is the most specific and effective way to deplete resident cardiac macrophages?

Cardiac resident macrophages are self-maintaining hematopoietic cells that start in embryonic hematopoiesis. Apoptotic cardiomyocytes are efficiently cleared and degraded by cardiac resident macrophages following a myocardial infarction (efferocytosis). The underlying molecular pathways for this process are unknown, yet it is necessary for inflammation resolution and tissue repair. As a result, we set out to figure out how cardiac resident macrophages keep clearing and degrading phagolysosomal cargo after a heart attack. Heart resident macrophages are a diverse group of immune cells that play an important role in promoting angiogenesis and preventing fibrosis in response to cardiac pressure overload. In the context of cardiac healing, interaction between different types of macrophages should not be ignored. More therapeutic techniques targeting macrophages directly or indirectly, strengthening heart regeneration in neonatal mammals, and improving cardiac repair in adult hearts following injury are expected to be developed in the future.
