In order to cultivate a strong research culture among students, the following are encouraging to do so. First encouraging curiosity and critical thinking among students, providing mentorship and early research opportunities, offer research funds and opportunity to participate in workshops and access to labs particularly central labs, encourage them to take part in research publication, promote collaboration and finally recognize and reward their research achievements. Regarding what distinguish strong researcher from a great researcher, a good researcher is skillful, curious and always relay on evidence based arguments. However a great researcher goes beyond this by asking the original questions, critically thinking, preserving through challenges, effectively collaborate and produce output with lasting impact.

Instead of waiting until postgraduate studies, universities could help by introducing research early in undergraduate education.
