Be honest the question is rather ambiguous. From my stand point there are many derivatives which designed artificially and we are not too sure (may be some of them) whether body possessing the metabolite pathways that able to excrete them out of our body

"Respiratory toxicity" in terms of smoking, does not appply if ingested. SEMI-SYNTHETIC cannabinoids are potentially toxic in a number of further ways.

Research seems to convincingly show that adolescents consuming 'pot' do suffer from some cognitive problems. Uncertain about how these issues may affect functionality in adulthood. As a 72 year old chronic pot user I am swayed by the research on adolescents (i.e., under 18 year olds). Legalize it and keep it from your children. Then, chill out with a couple of hits.

CBR2 agonists are known modulators of immunity. While CBD has a lower affinity for CBR1 and CBR2 than THC or other THC-modeled synthetic cannabinoids, it does have a modulatory effect in some immune cell populations. Specifically, CBD treatment in isolated human monocytes resulted in the presentation of cell surface markers consistent with activation. Activated monocytes can exacerbate some inflammatory conditions. Further, cannabinoids have been demonstrated to inhibit proper immune cell activation and formation of adaptive immune responses stemming from vaccinations and result in augmented viral infection due to suppressed immune responses in mice. Regarding neurotoxicity, the suppressive effect of cannabinoids on neurodevelopment is well documented, especially with habitual cannabis use at an early age leading to cognitive deficits. Unfortunately, as cannabis gains further acceptance in the population it also becomes more accessible to minors. Lastly, while the public and the scientific community focus on THC or CBD, these are only 2 of the ~70 known phytocannabinoids in Cannabis sativa. There are other known immunomodulatory compounds in cannabis which have been very poorly studied up to this point and need further research. There is no doubt that individual components of C. sativa and C. indica have potential medical utility as anti-inflammatory and anti-seizure medications, but the growing acceptance of cannabis as "safe" would be the same as saying opium is safe because it's natural and has a medical use. In short, we need more extensive research into cannabis use and the individual cannabinoids before we know the full extent of the health hazards posed by these compounds and before any meaningful medical application can be applied and accepted for such a complex mixture of compounds exhibited in cannabis.
