    This should have been a checkbox answer option so that people can report using AI in more than one capacity. For me, it's mostly coding. But I've used it with literature review (elicit) on an outside topic; of course, I then replicate this on my own to verify it. But the research table that elicit provides is an excellent starting point. I review a lot of papers, but never with AI help. I have used it to help me make practice questions for my students (e.g., helping think of alternatives in multiple choice questions.)

    I utilize AI tools across multiple stages of my research workflow. For literature review and synthesis, I use AI to summarize recent studies in antimicrobial resistance, sexually transmitted infections, and genomic surveillance, helping me identify knowledge gaps and structure background sections.

    In data analysis and interpretation, I use AI to better understand statistical outputs, including logistic regression results and antimicrobial susceptibility patterns, and to explore modeling approaches.

    For writing and communication, AI assists in drafting and refining research proposals, manuscripts, and professional correspondence while maintaining scientific accuracy and clarity.

    I also use AI for experimental design support, particularly when structuring study variables, refining methodologies, and planning analytical frameworks. Additionally, AI supports my coding and computational learning in R and Python for genomic and metagenomic data analysis.

    Finally, I use AI to prepare presentation materials and educational content, including thesis defense slides and structured teaching resources.

     I use AI tools primarily to accelerate initial literature searches and identify relevant papers across large bodies of research. 
     Useful for broad scoping and finding papers I might otherwise miss, but I have learned to be cautious about AI misinterpreting specialized terminology or missing important methodological nuances that only become apparent when reading the full paper.

    When I write a scientific article, I use AI to help give meaning and clarity to my sentences and phrases in English, since I am not a native English speaker. Likewise, I can ask it to help me find recent articles related to my research topic, which I then analyze and discuss myself. As an effective translator and precise search engine, it is a powerful tool.
